About Wonderland Amusement Park
Bringing smiles and laughter since 1964!
Wonderland Amusement Park has been a beloved destination for families and thrill-seekers alike since its opening in 1964. Nestled just outside the town limits, Wonderland offers a unique blend of classic charm and modern excitement.
Our mascot, Pal, has been the heart and soul of the park, greeting guests with a friendly smile and unforgettable performances at The Big Top Show. Pal embodies the spirit of joy that defines Wonderland.
Our History:
1964 marked a dream come true as Wonderland Amusement Park opened its gates to families seeking joy, adventure, and a taste of magic. From the very first day, our mission was clear: to create a place where laughter echoes through the air and memories are forged to last a lifetime. Nestled just beyond the town's edge, Wonderland quickly became a cherished escape, blending classic charm with thrilling innovation.
By 1967, the arrival of our cheerful animatronic mascot, Pal, transformed the park's identity. Pal's sunny smile and whimsical performances at annual events brought an added layer of delight, becoming a beloved fixture for children and adults alike. His presence was more than entertainment, it was a symbol of the warmth and welcome that defines Wonderland.
In 1972, the park unveiled Splash Ride, a riverboat adventure featuring intricately crafted animatronic wildlife that delighted guests with every turn. This addition reinforced Wonderland's commitment to immersive experiences that captured the imagination and stirred the senses.
The late 1970s brought further excitement with the debut of The Whirler in 1978. This spinning thrill ride quickly became iconic, thrilling countless visitors while embodying the park's dedication to fun and innovation.
Our homage to history arrived in 1980 with the introduction of the Dream Carousel. Restored from an original 1920s masterpiece, the carousel's hand-painted mythical creatures enchanted guests, offering a gentle respite filled with nostalgia and wonder.
1983 cast a shadow with our new attraction... Giggle Drop! The ride quickly took over the kids' love and became the most popular attraction by far.
Following years saw continued care and attention; the Dream Carousel's restoration concluded in 1987.
A new chapter began in 1989 when Wonderland transitioned ownership to Wonderland Family Entertainment Inc., ushering in renewed energy and a steadfast commitment to family-friendly experiences.
The early 1990s were a time of both growth and caution. In 1991, new backstage areas were constructed for easier management of shows, restricted access signs and clear instructions to staff to maintain safety for guests, and so much more!
1992 brought a new electrical system and new modern devices to help keep guests safe and the shows run easier and more immersive than ever!
June 14th, 1994, was slated as a grand reopening. The park got a full makeover and new security!
The Big Top Show was revealed and flourished in 1995 with new performances starring Pal, drawing record attendance!
Upgrades to security systems in 1997 enhanced guest safety, coupled with reminders to visitors to respect designated zones.
Through all these years, the park has maintained these products of imagination.
And now, in the current year of 1999, Wonderland Amusement Park has been open for 35 years! Wonderland thanks our loyal guests for their trust and support. We can't wait to make more memories and smiles with you!
We remain dedicated to creating lasting memories for every visitor. Please respect all park guidelines and restricted areas for your safety.
